What Is Data Collection History in Groupboss?
Data Collection History is a feature inside the Groupboss Chrome extension. It provides you with an accurate record of all attempts to collect data over the past 48 hours.
All of the time Groupboss collects Member data, name, e-mail and answers to the membership question, it logs that here. You can see whether the data was saved successfully, whether it reached your Google Sheet, and review the full details of each lead.
This feature was introduced in Groupboss v4.0.0.
How to Access Data Collection History
- Click the Groupboss icon in your Chrome browser toolbar to open the extension.
- At the bottom of the extension, you'll see two tabs: “Dashboard” and “History.”
- Click "History". This opens the “Data Collection History” page in a new browser tab.
This feature shows data from the last 48 hours only. Entries older than 48 hours are automatically removed from the log.
Understanding the History Log
The history page displays a table with one row per approved member. Here's what each column means:
Status Badge Guide
You'll see colored badges in the Backend and Google Sheets columns. Here's what each one means:
Success: green badge The data was collected and saved successfully.
Not Configured: yellow/amber badge Google Sheets has not been set up for this group. The data was captured by Groupboss but was not sent to a spreadsheet.
You can fix this directly from the history entry, see the Resend to Google Sheets section below.
Click “View” on any entry to open the “Lead Data Details”. It shows the member's profile, group information, backend status, and Google Sheet sync status for that specific record.
How to Resend Data to Google Sheets
If a lead shows "Not Configured" in the Google Sheets column, you can resend that lead's data directly from the history log. You do not need to re-approve the member.
Steps to resend your data:
- Click “View” next to the entry you want to fix.
- In the “Lead Data Details” modal, find the “Sheet URL” field.
- Click the edit icon (pencil) next to the Sheet URL.
- An input field appears, type or paste your “Google Sheets URL.”
- Click “Resend.”
Groupboss will push that lead's data to your Google Sheet immediately. The “Google Sheet Status” badge updates to Success once it goes through.
Click “Cancel” at any point to close the input without saving.
Make sure your Google Sheet is properly connected to Groupboss before resending. See Connect Google Sheet with Groupboss for setup instructions.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does the history keep my data?
The history log tracks the last 48 hours only. Entries older than 48 hours are automatically cleared. Your actual lead data remains safe in your Google Sheet and Groupboss backend, the history log is simply a recent activity tracker.
Why does my Google Sheets column show "Not Configured"?
This means you haven't connected a Google Sheet to that group yet. Your data was still captured by Groupboss, it just wasn't sent to a spreadsheet. Use the Resend feature to push that lead's data once you've set up your sheet.
Why is my history log empty?
There are a few possible reasons:
- No members have been approved in the last 48 hours
- The Groupboss extension was not active or open during approvals
- You may be looking at a different group than the one where approvals happened
If you're unsure why data isn't appearing, see Why Groupboss May Not Be Working For You.
Can I export the history log?
Not directly from the history page. To export your lead data, go to the Groupboss dashboard and use the CSV download option. See How To Download Data In CSV or Excel Format for steps.
